     The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) provided 12 motor cultivators and 12 hand-operated sprayers free of charge to smallholder farmers and household plot owners in Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions to ease agricultural work and strengthen their production capacity.<\/div>\r\n
\"\"     The support was delivered under the project \u201cSouth-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Agricultural Development in the Fergana Valley\u201d (UNUN\/SEC\/028\/UND), implemented by FAO in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.<\/div>\r\n
     The equipment was distributed to project beneficiaries in the Navbahor community in Qo\u2018rg\u2018ontepa district of Andijan region, the Beshkapa community in Namangan district of Namangan region, and the Sanoat community in Fergana district of Fergana region. Each location received four motor cultivators and four hand-operated sprayers. Project beneficiaries in Qo\u2018rg\u2018ontepa district also received one tonne of urea fertilizer.<\/div>\r\n
     Timely field operations are essential for farmers working on small plots. The motor cultivators are expected to make soil preparation easier and reduce manual labour, while the sprayers will support crop protection against pests and diseases.<\/div>\r\n
     \u201cPreparing the soil on our household plots takes considerable time and effort. We hope the motor cultivators will make this work easier and help us prepare for planting on time,\u201d said Shuhrat Kenjabayev, one of the project beneficiaries.<\/div>\r\n
     The equipment complements the project\u2019s efforts to strengthen local knowledge and skills. In September and October, 38 participants successfully completed training-of-trainers courses held in Andijan, Fergana and Namangan regions. The sessions covered sustainable soil and water management, cultivation of climate-resilient crops and climate-smart agriculture practices.<\/div>\r\n
     \u201cAdopting sustainable agricultural practices requires both knowledge and the means to put it into practice. By combining training with equipment support, the project is helping smallholder and household farms strengthen their production capacity in the face of climate change,\u201d said Muhammadjon Qosimov, Project Coordinator.<\/div>\r\n
     The project aims to support climate-resilient agricultural systems in the Fergana Valley and improve rural livelihoods. By strengthening the knowledge and technical capacity of smallholder farms, cooperatives and national experts, it seeks to improve climate resilience, production efficiency and economic outcomes in agriculture.<\/div>\r\n
