It is historically known that as a result of geological exploration, the economic and social development indicators of countries rich in mineral resources have been high. In that context, Uzbekistan is also one of the countries abundant in underground natural resources. Its soil contains gold, uranium, copper, rare earth metals, and other strategic reserves, which lay the foundation for industrial and investment growth. Considering the particular importance of the sector, in 2021, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Joint Stock Company “Uzbek Geological Exploration” was established, tasked with the modernization and development of earth sciences.
Today, in the era of growing global interest in sustainable development, “green” energy, and strategic raw materials, the importance of geological exploration goes beyond the national economy and becomes a driving force in the international industry.
Today, in the era of growing global interest in sustainable development, “green” energy, and strategic raw materials, the importance of geological exploration goes beyond the national economy and becomes a driving force in the international industry.
As a result of the reforms of recent years, our country is taking bold steps in growth and development in every possible way. Undoubtedly, these changes are the result of the fair policy carried out by the head of our state. Today, the legal basis for the development of the field of geology, like all branches, has been strengthened. In order to introduce an effective management system in the field of Geology by transforming enterprises on the basis of Advanced International experience, reduce the cost of geological exploration work aimed at opening new deposits of minerals, increase the flow of direct foreign investments for the industrial development of mines, in 2021 “Central Laboratory” Duke, “Samarkandgeology” JSC, “Surkhongeology” JSC, “Toshkentgeology” JSC, “Kyzylkumgeology” JSC, “Geoburtechnik” Duke and “Hisorgeology” JSC were merged into “Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC. As a result, a single large organization with a modern corporate management system was established on the territory of Uzbekistan, which serves geology exploration. This process of transformation has served a lot not only in management, but also to increase the efficiency and productivity of geological exploration. Over the past period, the enterprise has tripled its results in geological exploration due to the introduction of modern and high-performance equipment, advanced technology and innovation technologies into the industry and the modernization of the industry
Today, more than 4.5 thousand qualified specialists work in the society. The society has four Central geology exploration expeditions and regional central geology imaging expedition, central geology Geophysical expedition, as well as five Analytical Laboratories, thirteen field expeditions, which are intensively carrying out geology-related work throughout the Republic.
A new era has begun in the field of geology, which is the backbone of the economy of our country, the heart of industry. The most advanced technologies were brought to the industry. As a result, the reserves and forecasts of underground resources have increased manifold. 3D seismic measurement, aerogeophysics, digital geology was introduced into the field.
Geological exploration work is an unobtrusive but hard work. Every discovery made by geologists represents a new factory, a new workplace. As is well known, Uzbekistan is a country rich in natural resources. More than 30 technological minerals, such as tungsten, molybdenum, magnesium, lithium, germanium, graphite, and titanium, hold particular importance for industry. The search for such minerals provides the foundation for the sustainable operation of the mining, metallurgy, energy, chemical, and construction sectors. Unfortunately, this potential had not been fully realized before; there was not enough investment in the exploration of minerals, processing of man-made waste, and transforming it into products. as a result of the advancement of geology to a new level under the leadership of our head of state, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, new deposits are being discovered today, and industrial sectors are expanding.
“Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC has conducted detailed geological exploration work in more than 13,000 km2 area over the past 4 years. As a result of geological exploration on about 20 mines, reserves were calculated and approved at the state reserves Commission. In particular, such deposits as Avliyo, Kourmitin, Aqba, Hayotbashi, Zimbiltau, Vodiy (Gold), Miskon (copper), Urikli, Nilyu (coal), Sarikol, Khojadiq (tungsten), Khondiza, Maidonsoy, Lashkerek (Polymetall), Korgantosh, Tyubegatan (potassium), Shorop (gypsum), Vandon (Sand-Gravel) are among them.
Such minerals serve the production of green energy, electric cars and high-tech products. It should be noted that the field of geology is the main backbone of the economy, the source of investment and exports, the key to the development of energy and industry, as well as a factor providing Territorial Infrastructure and employment.
It should be noted that the legislative and organizational foundations are strengthened, and work on large projects aimed at the production of products of high added value is increasing. One of the most important tasks is to extract valuable raw materials from ore based on modern technologies, purify it and turn it into a high – quality product. An important role in this regard is played by the “Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC. The society is carrying out significant projects for the identification of minerals, their orientation to industry. Geological surveys are conducted on the basis of medium and long-term programs and are updated annually. Currently, the most active geological exploration is carried out on a large scale in the mountains and foothill regions of Navoi, Samarkand, Tashkent and other regions. Increasing the resources and reserves of minerals is one of the main tasks for the Joint-Stock Company.
Thanks to reforms, advanced equipment and innovative technologies were introduced into the industry. This, in turn, has significantly improved the quality and pace of work. Today, “Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC has the largest fleet of multi-track drilling equipment designed for mineral extraction at depths of up to 2 km in the Adjara region. As a result of the support of the Ministry of Mining and Geology and the important measures taken to develop the sector, “Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC purchased and put into operation more than 50 modern hydraulic drilling equipment of the DBC Makina company ESD-9, S-15,21 and SONMAK company RX-4 brands that meet world standards, and as a result, the drilling fleet was updated by 56%, the number of drilling equipment increased to 151, and the number of auxiliary special equipment exceeded 400.
The current period marks a new stage in the field of geology, and previously unexplored areas are now fully covered. Year by year, the list of minerals expands, and modern methods, including aerogeophysical methods, are being used. This method allows for the rapid and accurate study of the earth’s layer of geophysical properties from the air. Whereas it used to take decades to identify minerals, today this work is done in a few years.
In 2025, “Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC is planning to conduct geological exploration work within the framework of more than 100 projects. Currently, within the framework of the state program for the development and restoration of the mineral raw material base, work is being carried out on ore minerals such as gold, silver, copper, lead, lead, tungsten, as well as resources used in the construction materials and chemical industry.
The Joint Stock Company uses modern chemical reagents in the preparation of drilling fluids used in geological exploration boreholes, which contributes to the long-lasting operation of drilling pipes, pumping mechanisms, and diamond tools, as well as ensures high-quality core sampling. These technologies not only increase labor productivity but also reduce the level of harmful impact on the environment.
As part of the modernization processes carried out by “Uzbek Geological Exploration” JSC, extensive work is being conducted using digital technologies aimed at optimizing workflows, centralizing the database, and preparing geological information in accordance with international standards. Since 2023, the Geobank and Geobank Mobile systems have been implemented to transmit geological, geophysical, and geochemical data in a unified electronic format, store them in a centralized database, and ensure rapid access. The information stored in Geobank complies with the requirements of the international codes JORC and CRIRSCO. This provides international investors with the ability to prepare reports, improve the quality of geological studies, and organize exploration and mining processes in accordance with international practice.
Today, core samples received by the Joint-Stock Company through modern drilling equipment reach 100 percent, increasing the accuracy of the analysis. Also, more than 150 modern equipment-based analyses are carried out in laboratories within the society to qualitatively analyze samples and accurately indicate the elements contained in it. In addition, the number of chemical elements has also increased, and analysis processes are carried out on about 70 elements. This serves to obtain accurate, qualitative data on rare-earth elements and rare-earth metals.
Modern Geological exploration cannot be imagined without digital technologies. Digitization and automation processes are being introduced to each stage of production processes. The society is also applying advanced experiences in this direction to its activities. First of all, digital technologies make it possible to control work processes in real time. That is, drilling work carried out on expeditions, the use of labor, the consumption of technical resources, even losses or excess costs are seen online. These processes are documented by photo and video recording, making it possible to make quick decisions.
